RevIQ is building the first modern global ad exchange combined with financial services for publishers & advertisers. The current ad tech ecosystem is dominated by a small number of platforms that are on archaic tech, black-boxed, & misaligned with publishers.

We believe advertising should be transparent, fast, & easy to use. RevIQ operates on a scale of 50 billion available impressions per month, and growing. We work directly with small start ups and large public companies on both sides of the exchange (publishers and demand partners).

Our business is scaling fast, and as we grow our team and build a global presence, we need a teammate that is just as eager as we are on our journey to be the largest global ad exchange.

  • You prioritize a full understanding of requirements, always assume there is a missing piece, and explore multiple solutions
  • If you see tech debt, you propose how to eliminate it
  • If you see bad process, you propose an improvement
  • This is not a role for someone who needs tight structure — this role comes with real trust and autonomy

Technical experience

  • Designed and deployed scalable production systems that do not use AWS/GCP
  • Understand the tradeoffs between different database technologies and when to use them, and have experience designing complex database schemas
  • Implemented automation and alerting to reduce reliance on manual checks
  • Identified and executed optimizations in systems where milliseconds directly impact revenue/product performance
  • Built and operated distributed stateful systems under unpredictable load from start to finish — you optimize for long-term system health and minimize work down the road
  • Understand requirements through diligence in coordinating discussions and asking questions, solving for correctness, tech debt, and scaling before they become apparent
  • Have made difficult architectural decisions with tradeoffs that directly affect the business
  • Write postmortems that effect architectural changes, not blame
  • Have experience working in adversarial systems that purposefully skew or obfuscate metrics and business incentives, and have made decisions on "source of truth"
